Description

This course examines the typical developmental process from birth through adolescence and will emphasize how a child’s development impacts their learning in the classroom. Topics will include changes in physical, cognitive, social, and personality development and the major theories of the field. In addition, we will focus on cultural and educational issues that coincide with the study of child and adolescent development. Application of developmental theory to practice is provided through several hands-on learning activities and child observations. Corequisite:EDU 490 or EDU 491.
